View photos and hear stories from two memorable road trips that inspired Joan’s vibrant series of oil paintings, currently on display at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.
Go behind-the-scenes to discover her creative process as she brings iconic roadside signs—many of which have vanished or faded—back to life. These signs once guided millions on their journey from Chicago to Santa Monica, showcasing cities and small towns, national parks, unique attractions, and classic mom-and-pop diners and motels along the nation’s first great highway.
Joan Gladstone is a Laguna Beach artist whose oil paintings capture joy and nostalgia. With 25 years of experience, her work has been featured in numerous juried fine art exhibitions and the renowned Sawdust Art Festival.
