Meet Board Member Bonnie 💙🐴

What better time to celebrate Bonnie than right after another incredible BBQ & Family Faire? 🤠 As our BBQ Chair since 2012, Bonnie has played a huge role in making this event what it is today—and this year’s event was certainly one to celebrate!

Bonnie’s journey with The Shea Center began 24 years ago as a lesson volunteer. Since then, she has served on the Drive to Ride, BBQ, and Gala committees and joined our Board of Directors. And while her role with The Shea Center has grown over the years, Bonnie is still a devoted weekly lesson volunteer—a role that keeps her connected to our clients, horses, and program. As a retired interior designer who owned her own business for more than 40 years, Bonnie brings creativity, a small-business perspective, and a knack for finding connections that benefit The Shea Center to everything she does.

But what Bonnie loves most about The Shea Center is the people. From clients and their families to staff and volunteers, she says it is “a place of joy and belonging.” After years as a program volunteer, she especially loves witnessing the progress, pride, and joy of our clients—and seeing our community come together to celebrate and support the mission.

We’re so grateful for Bonnie’s decades of dedication and the leadership she continues to bring to The Shea Center. And after this year’s incredible BBQ, we’re especially grateful for everything she and the BBQ team put into making the event such a success! 💙
